Hello, everyone! So many things to cover today!
This is a busy weekend for all of you. Thank you for investing so much time and effort into our fundraising on Saturday and rehearsal on Sunday. I hope you’ll be able to catch your breath after a two consecutive days of Miss East Cascades activities and be ready to hit the homestretch!
A reminder that Daylight Saving Time begins this Sunday, so set your clocks ahead an hour and take that into account when you head for rehearsal.
This Sunday will be our first talent review. If you haven’t already done so, please send a video by Sunday or bring that with you for review.
Due to a conflict with the use of the Worx offices, we will conduct our mock interviews in the main meeting area this Sunday, and move our onstage question/red carpet practice to the ladies’ sitting room. Thanks for your flexibility as we make this change.
At the conclusion of our rehearsal, we will distribute ballots for your selection of Miss Congeniality. Your choice should be friendly, genuine, supportive and encouraging toward her fellow candidates. Please give this some careful thought.
Also on the schedule for Sunday: we’re taking a promotional photo for Worx. You’ll use one of their shirts for the photo. It should be quick, depending on how fast you’re able to change and be ready for the shoot.
This Sunday is the deadline for final wardrobe approval. Check with Deloma to make sure your wardrobe selection is complete and work with her if there are still items to approve.
Your final resume and social impact statement are due Tuesday. However, if you can turn them in earlier, I will be able to send them off to the judges and give them a few extra days to get to know you.
There is still time to sign up Little Princesses, but be sure they submit their registration soon so we can plan for them. Bring the registration forms and fees with you if you have them.
If you’re still running short on your Children’s Miracle Network requirement, you may want to redouble your efforts over the next few days so you don’t have that hanging over your head any longer.
If you’re the next Miss East Cascades, you may want to check your calendar: we have an invitation to speak at the Downtown Rotary Club in Wenatchee at noon on Thursday, March 26.
People’s Choice has started off well! We’re going to ask you to decorate the cans we’ll use for People’s Choice during intermission; more on that when we see you on Sunday.
Whew! That’s it for today. You’re all rockstars! Let’s make this weekend a successful experience and keep up our momentum all the way to the 21st.
